The middle school boys schola chanted at their first lower school Mass. What a gift their dedicated teacher is to practice and prep these kids after school. I don’t claim to have some ironclad guarantee that all this extra stuff means my kids will keep their faith. I don’t know what winding roads they will take. But I am grateful for our parochial school to help plant seeds that will take shape over the years. When their imaginations run wild, I feel like I’m doing my best parenting. Even though we had just dropped family at the airport, even though my husband was tired, even though the youngest was wanting to reconnect after a long morning game of puppy and owner with her cousin bestie, my husband encouraged me to slip over to my Holy Hour.
